The online shopping giant JC Penneys has been hit with a new lawsuit claiming it’s stealing from consumers.
In a lawsuit filed Thursday, JCPenney accuses its competitors of selling more products than they do at its retail stores.
In particular, it says online retailer Amazon is charging more for items in its online store than its retail counterpart.
In the lawsuit, JCC alleges that Amazon and other online retailers are taking a cut of each item sold through their websites.
Amazon, the lawsuit alleges, is selling items on its site for more than double the price of those sold at a JC Penner store.
According to the lawsuit:JCPenneys lawsuit seeks class-action status.
The lawsuit seeks an injunction to prohibit Amazon and its affiliates from continuing to sell goods at lower prices and selling the products in online stores at a loss.
It also seeks a permanent injunction against Amazon and others from continuing the practice of selling items at a lower price and selling them online at a profit.JCPens lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.
