The deal marks the first major acquisition of a US online shopping brand by an American company.
Vons, which has more than 60,000 stores worldwide, is the second-largest online shopping company in the United States, behind Walmart, according to a recent survey by research firm eMarketer.
The company also sells clothing, shoes, appliances, electronics, food and more.
